The founder and licensed Principal Architect (CA Lic. # 34870) Lakshmi Subramanian is originally from Bombay, India.
Having grown up in a bustling metropolis, Lakshmi grew up with an innate sense of design and an acute need to be conscious of our environment and resources.
She did her architecture from Rachana Sansad's Academy of Architecture, Bombay, and was licensed in India in 1994. She worked with firms that specialized in primarily Residential architecture but also dabbled in Tenant Improvements, Hospitality, and Landscape projects as well.
She moved to the US in 1998 and worked with two large firms, WHL Architects in Sunnyvale and HPS Architects in Mountain View which specialized in commercial projects such as biotech, hi-tech and medical office buildings.
After getting licensed in the State of CA in 2014 she started her own firm. She focused on residential architecture with a touch of sustainability!
The firm name Lean Lens originates from that desire to bring Sustainable lifestyle, Lean , into focus, Lens!
Her firm’s design philosophy reflects her easygoing and fun persona, individual attention, and commitment to bringing her client’s dreams to life.
